A Time for PrayerLila Thompson, Stephanie Thompson’s daughter, is in Children’s Hospital in Birmingham with a ruptured appendix. Pray for her. Our last report was that she is healing and may get to come home early in the week next week. Praise the Lord for His watch care. Memorial DayMay your Memorial Day Holiday be a restful one. Remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The schedule of services for Sunday has not changed for the holiday. May 27 Bill Warren Wednesday Family SupperWednesday Family Supper is from 5:30 – 6:00PM. The meal for this week is Pizza. This will be the last meal before the summer break. Church CouncilJust a reminder, Church Council meets Sunday night after the evening worship. Vacation Bible School This year our VBS will be held June 17-22 from 6-8:30 PM. The VBS motto for 2007 is “Game Day Central – Where Hero’s are Made” – Hebrews 12:1-2. It is a sports theme. Please save any “freebies” you get from your favorite sporting event (shakers, pennants, large drinking cups, etc.) It’s a Boy Congratulations Bobby and Hillary Henderson as they are expecting their first child, a boy. We will have a box in the foyer outside the church office for anyone who would like to give a gift. Pastor Search Committee Continue to pray for our Pastor Search Committee. Let them know that we are supporting them in all that they are doing. They have a very large task and need our prayers and support. A Chance to Serve We are in need of a Sunday School Director and a Discipleship Training Director for 2007-2008 church year. If you feel God is calling you to serve in either of these positions please see a member of the Nominating Committee. Deacon of the Week Deacon Of The Week for May 26 – June 1 is Richie Carr. His phone is 393-1730. AWANA News AWANA Family Night – 6:00 – 7:30 PM, Wednesday, May 30. We invite all of our AWANA parents and church family to come and be a part of our end-of-year celebration. The service will end with cake and refreshments. RA and GA Mission Program The church voted to begin the RA and GA Mission Program for the summer. They will meet each Wednesday 6:30 – 7:30. There will be no AWANA during the summer. Sanctuary Flowers If you wish to provide fresh flowers for the sanctuary on Sundays, please sign up for the week you desire on the list by the Secretary’s Office. Thank you for providing such beautiful flowers. Phone Tree The church voted to purchase a phone tree program. We hope to have it up and running in a couple of weeks. If your phone number has changed or you do not think the church office has your correct number, please contact Kathy Wilson at 347-7364 and update your number. The phone tree is only as good as the phone numbers we have. Thank you. |
