Pastor Search Committee

Continue to pray for our Pastor Search Committee. Let them know that we are supporting them in all that they are doing. They have a very large task and need our prayers and support.

Deacon of the Week

Deacon of the Week of December 8 - 14 is Glenn Filipowski, his phone number is 393-2556.

Business Meeting

On December 16, at the regularly scheduled Business meeting, the deacons will present a motion concerning Article 5, Section 1 of the Bylaws titled “Church Officers”. This section deals with the qualifications of a pastor. Currently it reads, “he shall be the husband of one living wife, (meaning no divorcement on the part of either mate.) The deacons would like to change this to read “he shall be the husband of one wife”. The qualifications will be for any interim or permanent pastor.

New Music Director

Ricky Davis was called as Music Director last week and begins this Sunday. Welcome Ricky.

New Pastor Search Committee Member

Shirley Jones was elected to the Pastor Search Committee last week. Please continue to pray for this committee as they continue their work.

Note From the Deacons on Grow

There will be no G.R.O.W. for December 11th, 25th, or January 1st, due to the Live Nativity, Christmas and New Years respectively.

All PO’s, checks, receipts, and contributions must be turned in by Sunday, December 30, 2007 in order to be applied to this year. Anything received after that date will be applied and paid in 2008. Any questions should be directed to Ken Shoemake Thanks

Live Nativity-

The 39th Year of Live Nativity will start Sunday evening, December 9 and run through Wednesday evening, December 12 from 6 – 8 P.M. each night. Please invite your friends, neighbors, and family to come see the nativity, have refreshments and fellowship with us. Don’t forget to sign up to be a character or hostess on the sign up sheet in the sanctuary foyer.

Youth Christmas Party

The Youth Christmas Party is scheduled for December 15th at the home of Ricky & Cathy Davis. Bring a gift to play “Dirty Santa”. Check with Merrell for more info.

Christmas Caroling -

Please make your plans now to join us for our annual caroling event on December 19th. More information to follow later.

Ladies Weekday Bible Study

A Ladies Weekday Bible Study is now being held on Mondays from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. See Barbara Westerbeck for more info.

We are in need of workers for Extended Care and Sunday School. If you feel led to one of these openings, contact Alesha Blevins.
